... floods and devastation. A lot has happened while we've been away but we have been proud of the way our state has rebounded and are moving forward.
We're excited to be getting home tomorrow. We’ve been very fortunate through all our travels and have enjoyed sharing our adventures with our friends and family. We’re glad I wrote the blog because it’s already hard to remember some of the names of places we’ve been!
A long day of travel but I made it! Knoxville through Chicago to Newark. I waited about an hour for Claudia to arrive but then we scouted about the airport and shared a pizza for dinner. The restaurant had bubble lights which made us think of Carolyn building her house! Plane boarding and departure were on time and we were flying across the Atlantic. I slept a little though I do not do well sleeping on planes. About 9 hours later we arrived ...
... I realized the mistake~ it took about an extra hour in my day~ could it have been avoided? did I learn anything from it?
Here is the final entry I wrote in my journal during my walk: "I am stronger than I thought~ not just physically. I know I have been given many blessings on this journey. I realize I have received a gift more precious than gold. It cannot be physically touched or verbally shared. But I feel it WILL touch others. ...
... on our list of towns to visit but talk about shock factor. We were in have beauty and serenity of the Great Smokey mountains, enjoying the peace, stillness and quiet expecting to come down into a small, sleepy hollow. Nothing could be further from the truth! I'll end by THANKING God for the many good and few bad blessings in my life (they have all made me who I am)......for family and friends who love and encourage me..... for grace and mercy given to me everyday......and for the "God Wink" of the Camino!!!
