The seven hour flight is relatively uneventful other than Rob Roy can't wait for the beach making her rounds with elbows high and fake smiles firing off volleys of turkey buns to appease the restless. They did compliment the two hundred plus with a free beverage, dinner and a roll. We arrive in Lima after an eighteen hour grunt from Calgary at 1:15am. Yesterday, I tried to fix my stay at a guest ranch in the Texas Hill Country. However, the ranch of my choice is closed for a week due to a family wedding. I have checked for alternatives, but I either do not like the ranch or it is way too expensive. Therefore, I will jump on a horse in New Mexico or Arizona. Naturewise I will like those states better anyways.
So, this forenoon I will hop in a bus to San Antonio. Jan 29th in the evening, I will fly to El Paso.
Oh my goodness! What a night! 8 girls in 1 room coming and going at any time of the night. Making loud noises, putting the light on, snorring crazy, clogging the toilet, jumping around in the upper bunk, very limited respect. Under these circumstances I had my difficulties catching sleep. Am I getting too old for a dorm?

... porch and watched the herd move closer and closer to us. The boys started the braai (bbq for the aussies) coals and all and we celebrated the sunset together. It got a bit colder and the basketball had started so we came inside and waited until our chefs had prepared our meals. We had a nice family dinner at the table and headed into the lounge to finish watching the basketball. A nice relaxing evening to a lovely day.

Finished packing, then checked out of the KC Coyale Hotel. Justin and his girlfriend, Silvia, pulled up at 10:01 for the trip to the airport. We departed the hotel at 10:07. The trip to SJO took 23 minutes. We passed through one toll plaza on Costa Rica 1 – cost was 75 colones (15 cents). SJO is located right next to the highway, so we were at the departures hall a minute after exiting.
