Houston, we're not Kennedy Space Center

A travel blog entry by jason934 on Oct 05, 2015

... After the tour we looked at the space artefacts and watched a few movies/documentaries. There isn't as much to see and do at the center compared to Kennedy so we left at about 3pm a little disappointed (spoiled perhaps at going to Kennedy first). For dinner we got some Chinese food and called it a night. The Chinese good wasn't that good - Sam had Mongolian Chicken (lots of onion) and I had sweet and sour pork (too sweet, or not enough sour ...

... a weekend so the traffic was not too bad. Seabrook is a really nice seaside town. For dinner we found an independent restaurant called Seabrook Classic Cafe. Sam had crab cakes and I had chicken schnitzel, and we shared a homemade key lime pie for dessert. The food was really yummy and there were lots of locals both eating in and taking out so it was a good ...

After dinner, we got an Uber to the Wild West down the road. We had a drink and then moved ...

... a fit as we are like on a fairground ride turning and lopping back on ourselves. It's like being blindfolded and spun around and around. I'm saying directions and numbers and giving hand signals. Jock's city driving is terrible but this isn't a city... it's a metropolis. When we get to our motel, I explain to the front desk that we are booked in to stay for two nights already, but we are wanting to check in and pay for a third night as we are a day early. You'd think I'd ask ...

... conversation. Renee and I plan to keep contact and follow up some things we talked up. We both agreed our conversation was providential. I'd have to say this was one of the highlights of my time here - just a shame it was the last week!
Tuesday this week was the fortnightly morning tea for staff at Mase's work, so we made chocolate brownie and took the opportunity to say goodbye to everyone. They kindly gave the kids and I a WGIM pen and ...
