... neighbourhoods. I didn't visit the infamous south side. I'de probably get shot. But the one around Eleven City Diner has a relaxed, low-rise, hipster feel. There's more independent shops, including a number of record shops selling second hand and new vinyl and judging by the flags it's definitely gay friendly. I popped in to Gramaphone Records and was totally blown away by the selection in there. I was kinda hoping this would be the case given Chicago's dance music ...

... as a very nice French Bakery (La Fournette) in Old Town near the famous Second City. Also, we discovered a great place near Wrigley Field which in addition to tasty milkshakes, had a good selection of veggie options (Pick Me Up)! Finally, on our last day, before the train ride to St Louis, we found a place called RAW in the French Market, great raw veggie food, so Betti was in food heaven.
