... The Loop is in the air - think the exact opposite of an underground, the thing is ancient and elevated about 3 stories high. On the subject of height, we caught this train to the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower), once the tallest building in the world and still today the highest in the Western Hemisphere. It is remarkable, we rode the elevator to the 103rd floor, and there they have installed a 'Skydeck' which is a big glass compartment ...

... some years and suddenly there is a momentary pause that speaks volumes before he replies ' it's good for my daughter' and there we are, engaged in migrant talk about which, of course, I know a great deal, and touch on the politics of Ukraine today and the difficulty of leaving ones homeland and I can feel the tears just out of sight and don't wish to embarrass him so, having connected so unexpectedly, I wish him well and we bid each other goodnight.

... downstairs to purchase gelato for dessert. The purchaser of a medium container "to go" could choose up to three different flavours; I had settled on tiramisu and coconut and was thinking about a third, complementary flavour when Max came looking for me and made a strong argument for lemon sorbet. So much for the complementary flavours! We headed home to watch the Blackhawks lose their match and headed to bed shortly afterwards. A long day with an early start is expected ...

It wasn't cold it was F???N COLD!!!! The coldest I have ever been. Why people live here beats me. Summer must be pretty good to make it all worth while I say.
