    ... up again and we had to work out if moving to Michigan was still a good idea given his doctors are here. When the house valuation also came in lower than expected (and in addition to the issues identified) we thought it was probably a good opportunity to withdraw our offer and reassess what we were going to do. Luckily our apartment had not yet been rented so we were able to extend our lease. So we’ll stay in NY for now…

    ... like you're floating away. You're just there, and as long as you don't stiffen up or freak out, you just sit there, like you're relaxing in bend. Nothing's really fighting you, and yet you're not on the ground. It's an awesome experience. The bonus was, they took us both on the high flight, so we flew all the way up the chamber! After two flights each, we finished up our check out and headed south for lunch. It just so happens that Austin had an In-N-Out ...

    ... headquarters. There were many excellent speakers for the Opening Ceremonies including Ban Ki Moon's Secretary General (?) who read to us an inspiring message written for us by BKM himself. The former ambassador to Indonesia and a current US UN officer spoke with the kids about careers in International Relations.

    In Austin, you see all these t-shirts and hats and souvenirs that say weird Austin or keep Austin weird, it's like their slogan or something, today we would find out why. We had an early night and finally got out of bed early enough to make the 9.30am cut off for breakfast. It was a fairly descent free breakfast, cereals, juices, coffee, tea, muffins, Danish, fruits, toast and a waffle maker with the mix ready to go. After breakfast we did our laundry ...

    ... and started weeping: "I can't find anything, I don't have enough socks, I can't go on this trip…" He was admittedly a little tired from his sleep-over the night before. But with a little help from Mommy, we were able to get him squared away as well.

    Our flight is scheduled to depart on Saturday at 3:15pm, and we have a van picking us up from the house at 1pm. I think we're ready to go…! Let the fun begin. :-)
