The dinner venue was the Juke Joint which serves southern food combined with live jazz and soul music. The service was very poor and slow however the food was good, music great and the people really very friendly. We had multiple people say hello to us, welcome us to Atlanta and wish us well on our travels. We met, who we would later learn, was the owner who took a shine to the girls and even shouted ...

And back on the plane for another 6 and a half hours, more movies and more airplane ...

... Sunday, we finally were able to wake up early enough to make the two and a half hour drive up to Blue Ridge where we picked apples at Mercier Orchards. Mercier while mainly an orchard, produces lots of other fruits! We missed the blackberry and blueberry picking seasons and in May they have strawberry picking (hopefully we'll be back to do that later). As part of apple picking we enjoyed a short tractor tour of the orchards and had the opportunity to taste all of the ...

Left Vicksburg, MS to Rutledge, GA, right outside of downtown Atlanta. Stayed at Hard Labor Creek State campsite. Lovely rustic setting with no wifi or limited cell phone service however cable tv. Go figure! Had several fires at night. Highlight was visiting with Penny's closest cousins, Susie and Ellen. Love both these sisters! Had fabulous dinner at Susie and Tom's. Tom is a fabulous chef ...
