... anyone without some nervousness. Mostly though, I'm excited. I know it's going to be an amazing 4 1/2 months that I'm sure will teach me a lot about myself and will give me experiences of a lifetime.

I'll try to keep this up fairly regularly with posts about what I'm experiencing, what I'm seeing and what I'm feeling. I'm so grateful to have this opportunity and can't wait to see what's in store with me over the next 4 months! ...

The day started with a minor flight delay but a short two hour flight into Atlanta for Jared. Natalie was waiting with open arms for a long overdue hug! Our first stop was to the Park Tavern at Piedmont Park. Where we sat under the covered patio by the fire while watching ice skaters try to show off their best moves. We indulged in seasonal spiced beer (brewed right on site), mimosas, and spiced whiskey shots. And ...

... leaving so it allowed him to check things out even if he wasn’t sure it would interest him. I didn’t see any line cutting or rude behavior really at all. It was also not just for the young. I guess I imagined a lot of 20 somethings but honestly there were kids and there were older people so you saw all walks of life represented and enjoying it equally. And you would see many generations as well.

... in uncomfortable seats with seatmates who engage in a minor cold war for possession of the arm rest. Airline travel is not a terrible thing - it takes us to places we need or want to be - but it really lacks character.

... to a handbag, and a man who was clearly wheeling her standing around. It turned out that all the other security guys were not working on the searches and a que was building up, because they were searching for an envelope of money that she had apparently had in this bag before it was scanned and apparently wasn't there now. They'd apparently re-searched all of their bags and gotten down to searching through bins and all the different boxes and such and there ...
