      Folks, we have a winner. My journey continues up the east coast to Airlie Beach. One long overnight bus ride later, I arrive to Airlie and instantly put it in my top 10. It only takes a second to realize it's beauty and you're intrigued from the get-go. Although there is no surf here, it is the port to many sailing departures throughout Whitsunday. Whitsunday consists of small islands and inlets that surround the edge of The Great Barrier Reef which extends all the way up to Carins. ...

      ... planning behind us that I would have a crisp day by day itinerary and be able to share with you my day to day plans for the upcoming adventure. However, this is not the case, I have the big pieces outlined and know where I will be most of the days, but not the granularity that my mother would appreciate (sorry mom).

      ... and can be quite rude. He bosses people around and tells on them for the slightest transgression. During the trek, he was right up front with the guide, asking annoying questions. He's twelve, but he acts like a five-year old. He is always in your face. Half of the sweating I did on our trek was because of being annoyed with him. Still, the trek was nice.
