... counselors. I am excited to see all the beautiful sights Sicily has to offer. Lastly, I am a little exhausted from all this traveling and planes. It really takes it out of you! Had mixed emotions about having to go home today. It had been a wonderful trip, had met a lot of people along the way, ate great food, saw beautiful scenery, got into spats with Jeff & Amelia ~ really did have a great time!
We weren't due to fly out of Anchorage until 7:30pm in the evening, but thank goodness, Jeff decided to check for an earlier flight through Seattle. We drove back to Anchorage, returned the car & was at the airport for the 3:30pm ...
... Sunday, we finally were able to wake up early enough to make the two and a half hour drive up to Blue Ridge where we picked apples at Mercier Orchards. Mercier while mainly an orchard, produces lots of other fruits! We missed the blackberry and blueberry picking seasons and in May they have strawberry picking (hopefully we'll be back to do that later). We walked outside and caught a shuttle bus to the Atlanta Braves/Miami Marlins baseball game held at Turner Field. A friend of Linda had obtained tickets to the game for all of us. Unfortunately, the Braves lost 6 to 5.
We again caught the shuttle bus outside the stadium and then the MARTA to our car. It was almost midnight before we arrived back at the condo. ...
