... Highway is 3 lanes each way and the drive in was very quick. As usual the signage is good and makes it relatively easy to navigate without Tom if we are just looking.
The clouds had cleared from breakfast and it was a beautiful day, not cold, very pleasant. Walked around the city for a short time taking in part of a walking tour. There are some lovely old buildings, some not so nice looking ones and some big new buildings.

Booked into another Comfort Inn outside Albany. We are now considered to be "preferred members" as we have stayed with them quite a few times. This hotel is quite fancy looking from the outside and has banquet rooms. Had Italian for dinner at a nearby restaurant. We have decided to spend 2 nights here to have a bit of a rest day tomorrow and we have spent a few hours researching where to stay in New York City. Still none the wiser.

Open Loop Hop-on Hop-off bus will pick us up at 9am the next two days for tours of downtown, uptown, midtown, a night tour and a cruise by the statue and Ellis Island.
