Another place we will have to come back to.

London is awesome. We are exhauseted and looking forward to coming home.
We really like this city... maybe more than any big city we have been to on this trip.
Last night we went to Maze Gordon Ramsay and had a 6 course tasting menu. Easily the best (and most expensive) meal we have ever had. And today we went to a matinee of Wicked the …

Well we fly out tomarrow so this will be the last entry from this side of the pond. In addition, my wi-fi account runs out in 3 hours.
Really good day as it was breakfast at 8 [eggs, ham. cheese, toast, juice, "coffee"/tea, and flakes] and then to the train at 9:30. We traveled to Hatfield, north of London, to visit Hatfield House, Its a rather …

Market day and National Gallery

This morning we slept in till 11:00am local time! Felt good now that jet-lag isn't much of a threat. I think we just needed a morning off to catch our breath. Rachel went to the National Gallery to look at Da Vinci while Hannah and I hopped the Tube to Notting Hill to shop the famous Portobello Street Market. On Saturdays it boasts over 1000 stalls of antiques, clothes and food booths as well as a disappointing number of kitschy tourist trinket shops. It must cover ...

... audience, and there were lots of gasps and Mikey and I both jumped from our seats several times! Anyway, back in Mile end in bed now and buggered after another full day. Time to rest my weary eyes and feet!!

And now, yet another day has passed and we are back in Mile End once again. Didn’t have a chance to upload anything since I last wrote, so figured I may as well catch up on today’s activities before doing so. We met up with Matt this morning, an ex-student of ...

Not so Kewl

... I expected. It is a cute area though. Right by the station are some shops that are very quaint and I would guess there have been shops there for hundreds of years. The houses are adorable, each with their own little well-kept lawn. It's only about a block to Kew Gardens through the pretty neighborhood, so I should have had plenty of time in ...

I highly recommend this hotel !

    from

I stayed in this hotel with a friend for 2 nights and 3 days. It was a very nice stay. We had a twin room, the beds were extremely comfortable, the room big enough for us to have space. The continental breakfast was very good as well. There were some muffins, some bread, some food suited for vegans and diabetic people, different kind of juices, yoghourts, fruit, jam, danish pastries, tea, coffee... The hotel was very clean and the workers there very helpful, and very nice, patient, answering all of our questions, always smiling. The hotel wasn't noisy. Another good point is that you can eat there at night if you don't want to go out. There are some meals with chicken, pastas... The choice isn't very big but still it is nice to know you can eat there for there aren't many things around the hotel.

    Great Hotel

    from

Stayed her for 4 nights. Great room (size),clean bed/bathroom. Close to the underground - Central Line. You would think it maybe would have been a bit noise, but no it was not. I slept like a baby. It was not too expensive either. Loved this hotel, and will come back on my next trip to London.

    Great stay at the express

    from

Stayed here the week of the transport bombings so there was a great deal of distractions & transport problems but we found our vacation stay wonderful. The hotel is superbly situated next to the tube & bus routes with tube journeys of twenty minutes to Oxford st with its own secure carpark. The hotel itself was extremly clean with the staff always tidying up & busy with lots of time for guests which I thought with all the turmoil a great attitude from the staff.

    Good Hotel

    from

I have been staying here for one night every month on business since it opened almost 2 years ago, as my head office is opposite this hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable, decent bed, good shower, air con, TV etc. It is very quiet. They have recently installed secondary double glazing and the main road outside has just been re-routed so it is almost traffic free. North Acton Tube station (central line) is directly behind the hotel and offers a very good link to the city. Road links are good, just off the A40 (turn off at the huge blue Carphone Warehouse building, you can't miss it! the hotel is just behind it) There is a small hotel car park which you may have to book in advance. There is not much near the hotel, just offices, petrol station and a pub but there is a small general store under the hotel for essentials. I normally catch the tube 2 stops to the end of the line at Ealing Broadway where there are lots of bars and restaurants. Tube runs until the early hours. Breakfast is included and is a reasonable continental effort. The only minor downsides are that the bar is a bit bland and unwelcoming and it takes ages to check in/out (otherwise the staff are fine).

    Excellent!

    from

This hotel rocked. If you don't mind a short tube ride to the city center (15-20 minutes to Oxford Circus), this hotel will serve you well. Clean, comfortable, good continental breakfast (which is available rather late in the morning, too), very friendly staff. My husband stays in hotels 14 days out of the month and this was the quietest hotel room he's ever been in... although you could throw a rock from our room's window to the train below, you wouldn't have known it from the lack of noise! It took 20 minutes from Victoria Station to reach the hotel. We loved it.

    Perfect!

    from

Hotel located right by the North Acton tube station, if you look up when you exit the tube station you will see the backside of the hotel straight ahead of you. We didn't, asked for directions and felt very stupid.. North Acton tubestop is just within zone 1-2, the cheapest one. We bought a weekend ticket for the tube that was extremely cheap. It takes less than 15 minutes to Notting Hill and 20 minutes to Oxford Circus.

Clean, new room that would have costed 200 euros in the city centre.

What else can you ask for?

    Clean but Far

    from

This is a nice hotel, moderately priced with clean rooms. However, it is out of the way and there is nothing within walking distance. Not even the Taxi companies knew how to get there! This can be a problem if, like I, you have an early flight to catch (there is no metro early in the morning) and the taxi service never arrives because they can't find the hotel. There is a tube station a few meters from the hotel, but it does not offer 24 hour service. Other than location, it is a good hotel.

    Good choice for London Stay

    from

My family and I stayed at this hotel for a week during our vacation in the UK. Very close access to the tube and large clean rooms with A/C. Phone calls are expensive and there is very little to do around the hotel. This hotel worked well for us.

    New, but basic hotel

    from

Date of stay : 7 Feb 04 Type of room : Std double (non-smoking) Location - About 30 mins car ride from Heathrow airport during non-peak hr - North Acton tube stn just behind the hotel - A bus-stop in front of the hotel - Sited away from food outlets & shopping mall - Close-by are a small 24hr convenience store, a nice pub (which serves food) & a Deli Room - Small, but new & clean - Well lit - Springy, but comfortable bed - Walls were all made of brick offering very good sound insulation - Window was double glazed (no intrusive noise from train) Bathroom - Small, but space well used - Branded fittings, which worked well - Water does not leak out from shower stall - Well ventilated - Nice powerful shower (no tub in our rm) - Lux & Dove liquid soap offered - Towels were new & fluffy Breakfast - Std Continental breakfast Staff - Polite & helpful Overall - Not the best of location when it comes to meal times, but having the tube stn close-by helps - Not much trouble taking the tube into the city as its on the Central line (direct route into the city) - The fact that it is new & well maintained is a plus - Rooms may be small, but offer good rest
