There is a mean conductor on this train. When we got to Brussels central, she was blowing her whistle and telling people to 'Move!!' She scared me, and I wasn't even the one she was yelling at. I was just watching from afar. I also made a boo-boo in that when I got on ...

We went for a walk to the Grote Markt, found the information centre and got a wealth of information from the lady there. From there we went shopping for food for lunch. Had lunch and went walking. Again what an interesting and beautiful town Mechelen is, I really loved it. There is so much to see here and do. I also found the railway station and information to assist me on my train journey for ...

A company was hired to clean up the site and were awestruck at the number of bodies found. This was the battle of Ieper (Ypres)! The actual sheer numbers of dead soldiers in the battle hit us as we walked around the cemetery. This battle was unbelievable and it was clear once again ...

After the Justice Palace we headed over to the European Union Parliament buildings. They were beautiful and modern and I think that Parliament was in today, as well. We enjoyed the view here for awhile before our guide declared that it was "beer o'clock" and we headed over for some frites and beer, a.k.a the best lunch ever. Belgians are very protective of their frites/fries/chips and they also make a plethora of delicious sauces to have ...
