... br>All being well we'll have managed to cram our worldly possessions into a combined 155 litres of rucksack without too many arguments over whether Clarins Face Products are classed as "essential" and also with a bit of luck our baggage will have made it's way onto the same aeroplane as us : ) and we'll be winging our way to London, next stop Bangkok!

A&Px
Manchester, England, United Kingdom alex_paulLast brief entry, just to say we are safely back home, arriving yesterday with Sue picking us up at Manchester airport.

We've had a fantastic trip - very memorable! Thank you for following our trip. Hope it hasn't been boring, certainly hasn't for us.
Burnley, England, United Kingdom col-jean... the CHANGE. I don't particularly like change, but I like to take myself out of my comfort zone sometimes and see what I can handle. Keep challenging myself.

Keeping this short, otherwise it will get VERY boring. More time for fun stories and escapades then! xox
Huddersfield, England, United Kingdom michybair... up turning into a full scale yelling match between two of the faculty members, and I wish I could tell you why. All I can say is what I learned from the experience- Americans (me) are way to innovative and the British (them) are very defensive to their ways. In the end they said my input (the suggestion that they produce a handout of course info for international students) was excellent and they thanked me. I was very confused ...
Bramhall, England, United Kingdom scharrak... and sound back at good old cold, wet, dark Ringway. Did I say 'good old'? Slip of the tongue! We're finally back on terra firma after the last flight. By my calculations we've flown something like 24,000 miles on this circumavigation. Would I do it again? To be honest with you, I'd have quite happily hopped straight on board the Air NZ 747 bound for Los Angeles and flown back the other way! The bank manager wouldn't have liked it though.
Manchester, England, United Kingdom chris_calcite... genocides going on today. I was impressed that this exhibit was being held in a church and found it to be very moving. From there I passed the enormous Manchester Ferris wheel and found the Urbis museum shaped like a trapazoid and designed in glass and metal very modern. I just missed the exhibit though so nothing was going on there. It normally has different exhibits for a few months at a time and also has a small exhibit about Manchester being ...
Manchester, England, United Kingdom hippietraveler... new wardrobe....the next day we did a bit of sightseeing, visitng all the canals and to the Urbis Museum, a huge glass building with different city exhibits inside. In the evening Ruth took us out to a couple bars so we could experience Manchester student nightlife....
Manchester, England, United Kingdom kieranandclaireSo it took all night to get to Manchester, so I arrived at about 8 am. We were early - thank God - because we really caught the jet stream coming over. Now if this was my first impression of the English I was not impressed. The flight was a charter for Thomas Cook - one of those see Vancouver all you English people ones. No one shut up all night. So sleep I did not. I couldn't understand why people were so stupid ...
Manchester, England, United Kingdom findavar... Overcast weather and cold, I truly was home and couldn't stop smiling or tare myself away from the window. It was like I was looking at England with new eyes. Anyways, I guess that this is the end then. I'm jobless but safe and sound in England, until June at least (I'm flying back to New Zealand to work the winter again and then who knows!) Thanks for reading, and thanks to anyone who's featured in these entries without you I wouldn't have had anything to write about!
Manchester, United Kingdom muelmcguinness... One thing to note though (you'll see why later); as we were walking back to go to sleep for the evening, we passed this gorgeous old restored ship that was docked nearby and we spoke about climbing aboard the ship that evening, but we didn't. Tammy took photos of the ship sailing early that day and desired to be onboard. But now it was time to sleep, after traveling for about 19 hours at that point and having less than 5 hours sleep over about 30 hours, rest was welcome. :)
