Clean, Fresh, MSLightly Minimalist.

The Holiday Inn Express at Stansted Airport represents excellent value for money, particularly when you consider that it is an airport hotel and these tend to be extremely overpriced. But what impressed me the most was the fact that it was spotless (no guarantee for this in the UK!) and incredibly well maintained. It exuded an air of "just opened".

In short: well maintained, good, attentive staff and exceedingly good value for money.

Clean, modern, excellent value for money

I stayed at this hotel for the night because I was flying from the airport the next morning. This hotel offers excellent value for money. It cost me £58.95 for a double room with sofa bed which was spacious, ultra clean, with modern ikea-style decor and had lots of little extras like nice toiletries and sky TV. The breakfast was a complimentary buffet the next morning which was well stocked. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a bus to the airport which runs every 20 minutes and cost me £2.

Overall, if you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel to stay in before your flight then this is the right choice. It's rated 3* but it's at the higher end of that rating and it's better than many hotels I have stayed at in Central London - and a lot cheaper!

FANTASTIC STAY

Fantastic stay, Value for money, The staff were very friendky and helpful. We felt safe leaving the car, secure car park.

Fantastic value

We booked a park & fly package at the Hotel as we had an early flight from stansted. The Hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and we felt confident in leaving the car in their car park as it is secure. Most importantly was it was great value for money and by staying over prior to the flight it took away all the stress of getting to the airport. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Understafffed

The hotel was very busy when we stayed and there were not enough staff. The queues for check-in and the bar was very long. The wait for food was over 40 mins and the staff were very unhelpful. Overall, I would not want to stay more than one night, it just about fulfils its function as an airport stopover hotel.

Good value at Stansted

I often stay at this hotel on business for one night prior to an early morning flight. It always is clean and staff are generally friendly enough. For around £70 per room the price is reasonable considering the location and that includes a buffet breakfast.

Car park can be full and costs £4 per night on top of the stay, there is also a shuttle that takes you to the airport for £2, although the bus stop is not easy to find at the airport (it is in the coach park).

I would also recommend the Hilton, as it has leisure facilities and can be as cheap if you get a special internet rate.

Great Stop over hotel

Great airport hotel - new, clean, modern, a short hop from the airport (bus starts at ~6:00 am - every 20 mins)

Great option as a stopover or a base for an early flight - would recommend and will definitely use in the future

Nice, clean rooms

The rooms, although on the small side and characterless, are very clean, pleasant and modern. The beds are comfortable and I particularly liked the bathrooms. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in the rooms.

If you have to spend more than a couple of hours at the hotel you may find yourself a bit bored. The selection of TV & radio channels is poor, and the restaurant only opens at certain times (I think they serve food between 6pm and 11pm - not sure about during the day). The food is bland, chain-pub style fare. If you need to leave before breakfast is served there is still a limited selection of tea, coffee etc. from machines in the breakfast room. There is a vending machine if you need after-hours snacks.

The shuttle bus every 20 minutes to and from the airport - although the shuttle is free on the way to the hotel you are charged for it in the direction of the airport (I think it's £2).

The staff were friendly but not particularly efficient, and early morning checkout was a bit chaotic - leave yourself plenty of time.

Clean, Modern Accommodation and Handy for the Airport

Nice clean hotel, appeared to have been recently refurbished with some very modern touches such as LED lighting in the bedrooms; all the usual facilities - writing desk, TV, radio, tea/coffee tray, etc. Bathroom bright and fresh and the hotel location very convenient for Stansted Airport - about two miles from the terminal. Only gripe is that the hotel claimed to have a restaurant but this turmed out to be a very limited menu of five (over-priced) items available over the bar.

Not a holiday hotel, but recommended for an overnight stay on business/before early flight, etc.
