    ... were left to wander the city on our own. We stopped at a few gift shops, enjoyed some ice cream and then visited the famous bridge.

    Tonight for dinner, we formally introduced ourselves to one another in our tour group and enjoyed a traditional German meal consisting of soup, turkey nuggets and fries. After a long two days of traveling, we are settling in for a good night's rest!

    We left our hotel at 8 am this morning and drove to the Bridge at Remagen. We ran into some traffic, but arrived shortly after 11. We saw what was left of the bridge and also went inside one of the towers to the Peace Museum.     Well we really have been lucky with the weather along the way - had 2 great day here with sun and wwarm temperatures. Change in the night with heavy rain - quite fresh this morning when I went out in search of bread - first stop closed again - another does not sell bread and back to the one I felt sure about and got some bread and headed home - they slice very thin here, the way I like it, but not Garry.     ... Baden-Baden. They too welcomed me with fine food, a walk around their city, and lovely conversation. The 15th century castle we saw was fantastic. There were no floors left, just walls. I wouldn’t want to be there during a big windstorm. It was amazing because the entire Black Forest was white (See photos!). Every branch of every tree was covered in snow and ice.
