Stop in Berne, the capital city of Switzerland en route to Lake Genève. Visit the town of Montreux, famous for its Jazz Festival, before enjoying a lakeside drive to Evian les Bains on the southern slopes of Lake Genève. Departed Zurich at 9am to head to Bern. We had no preconceived ideas on what Bern would like, but when we drove into Bern, it is just jaw droppingly beautiful. No words could explain how beautiful this place is. Have a look at ...

It was quite emotional and inspiring to see how it all began and where it is today, seeing old and ...

... was some unflattering graffiti on walls in the town. In all honesty, the place isn't ideal for a rest day as there are some steep inclines to deal with to visit the Protestant Cathedral - protestantism is the major Christian tradition in th is Canton - and other old town sites.

I say that I'm glad to have the guides, yet they contain information about the upcoming climb through the Alps that has triggered fears about how my vertigo problems will be managed as I make my way ...

... route. Thanks to Words with Friends, I haven't played 'real' Scrabble in ages so it was fun to put letters on an actual board, and pick letters from an actual bag. It was a good game but it wasn't without controversy. Mr B fundamentally disagrees with the idea of two word letters if you cannot explain them or use them in a sentence; I believe that if they are valid words according to either the dictionary or another reputable source (in our case, Mr C in the drivers seat) ...
