10 (or so) minutes from Southern Cross - an easy Skybus ride from the airport. Tram stops close by. Friendly and helpful staff particularly John who helped us change rooms. Petite double a bit small, double perfect size for us. Rooms clean, tidy and bed is a dream to sleep in. Toilet/shower bit small but only criticism.

Up just before ten. Finally caught up with my notes while you watched reports about Jacko's memorial on Sky News Australia. Had brunch in the Direct Factory Outlet. Lots of quandary about a pair of boots, finally bought for $100. Nice woman in shop, stressed with missing shoes, presumed stolen. Bought tickets for tomorrow’s shuttle to the …

Lazy morning watching the History Channel about Hitler's death! Let lunchtime, booked Mandy’s flights in an internet café and printed maps off. You in a mood over nothing again! We eventually realised the train station was the pale to buy our tram tickets! We got on one to Toorak where we passed on the way in. You saw a lampshade you wanted! …

The guy at the motel advised we should leave by 8am if we wanted to miss the traffic. We made it out by 8.40 which wasn't bad. Holbrook itself turned out to be a lovely little town on the Hume Highway. Hope they don’t bypass it like elsewhere.

Barring a close-call stop for a Sausage McMuffin right on 10.30, we carried through to …

Nice to have a lazy morning. We ate our Danishes in bed and eventually went for another walk in town. Decided to cross a bridge over the Yarra near us and the Crown Casino. It had lots of shops and cafes near the waterfront and we settled for one we saw first – but seagulls so vicious and smoking so smoky that we ended up inside.

      Melbourne and the Holy Land

First things first: I know I should be writing about how Melbourne is a laid back city with a European style, lovely lane ways and cafe culture... but I'm going to be honest... For me, it's all about NEIGHBOURS BABY!!! OH YEAH!!!

So, I hope you don't mind but I will be very brief about the city itself.

It was a very nice city, ...
