And so after a long flight - 12+ hours - we arrived in Paris, grabbed a quick drink and then on to Birmingham. Unfortunately, Pat's suitcase decided to stop off in Paris but will hopefully be delivered tomorrow! Back to a sunny UK, with a temperature not much cooler than Hanoi yesterday, where the blossom is in full swing. Lots of memories of a lovely holiday. ...

A short flight to Paris before we boarded Air France plane for the long flight to Vietnam. We dozed a bit, read a bit and watched films a bit to while away the time. Somewhere along the way we lost 7hrs in time difference and most of Thursday. And so we arrived - not sure if it was Thursday or Friday - ready to start our adventures. ...
... picking people up along the way and the last pick up is at Sunderland and that is at 8.20 We drive until 10.35 and have a one hour break at Woodall , which I think is somewhere near Sheffield . Leave again at 11.45 and are told we will be in Birmingham just after 1pm and time for Cadburys is 2.10pm so drive around in Birmingham for about 1/2hour before we are dropped off at our destination .Also the driver got. ... lurched backwards and forwards as he zig zagged along. Now, I thought, why would you? As a form of locomotion, it has been superseded, by faster, more efficient and easier two wheeled versions. As a form of excercise, tight rope walking would have strengthened the same muscle groups and have been much safer for pedestrians. I might be missing the point but it seemed to me, as we say up North, a right tow of a pleasure.
