Yesterday we had the journey from Hell.
To begin with it was boring, (flat northern France & Belgium), then the rain started and Belgium motorways became lethal. They are filled with huge potholes and rain stays on the surface. Every couple of kilometres there were warning signs for aquaplaning, in fact we made a joke that if they had …

Walked around the town and took in the ambience. Had dinner with some folks from the tour and had the obligatory Black Forest cake...yum!

... were very helpful and an American sounding lady made communication easy. When asked about the 4 kWh electricity limit and reading the meter, she said "Just plug yourself in and heat the street if you like" A pleasant change from Mr Stern where every unit was charged at 0.5€ (we used 8 kWh in 2 days keeping consumption to a minimum – no hair dryers or hot water!)
Wi-Fi was cheap at 5€ for 3 DAYS (rather than 5 for 5 hrs ...
