... or another we had to travel 2 kilometres in a little horse and cart, and the horse looked so miserable. I would have been too if I was pulling 6 people along, while being whipped. We had a little lunch (better than the Cu Chi lunch!) at the next stop then hopped on little boats to go down a jungly bit of river. The guy rowing our boat thought he was Lewis Hamilton or something and overtook some other boats, which was lovely as it proved how strong he was, but ...

A cool change! They call it the Paris of Vietnam, not sure I would go quite that far, but certainly a lot of French influence and a joy to see fields of gerbera, roses, hydrangea, cabbage, cauliflower, and even avocado. In the outskirts every inch of the land is smothered in plastic glass houses.

The fairy spring is a shallow, sandy stream that you're able to walk up ...

Today's site seeing adventures turned out to be a bit of a flop. Our day was around driving into Phan Thiet (15km from our hotel) and seeing some of the sites. Breakfast was at a local spot just down the street from our hotel. 30,000D for an omelette with bread, and only 10,000 D for an iced coffee with condensed milk. This is the best deal I've found so far for ice coffee and it tasted fantastic!! What made the coffee most enjoyable was that I got to see drip right ...

... Once at the town we swung a left towards the East and settled into some fairly average boring roads for the next 45 minutes.

Eventually we hit another junction and took the left fork away from the busier road that the 'Easy Rider' guys wanted us to take and headed off down some rough country tracks and some nice winding stretches of quiet tarmac. It was really nice. Similar to what we had experienced in the North and the West near the Laos ...
