My first "Costa Rica" post - yay!

Yes, I am going somewhere, again. When my friends and family see me, they always say, "where are you going now?" I can't help it. I love to travel, and after being in Morocco, it has taken on a whole new meaning for me.

For the past few years, I had been considering doing volunteer travel, but I didn't have to guts to do it. Flying into a foreign country by myself and being picked up by a stranger seemed ...

High Cliff State Park, Wisconsin, United States bekandjesse... it is mostly industrial but has a certain charm especially with the river. It is also the home of the Green Bay Packers and the locals are very proud of their team. Unfortunately we ran out of time so didn't get to go and look at the stadium (they had their training camp on which would have been interesting to watch.

The next day we were up and off to Grand Rapids / Duluth.
Green Bay, Wisconsin, United States usa2009aswmWhat a trip! I can't believe it is over already! This was such a great experiance! I will treasure this forever. The flight back to the States was uneventful. It was so sad leaving Max. I think we all had tears in our eyes. The line to check in was so long at the Rome airport. And we had our own wing of hte airport for American flights. We laughed - stick the Americans in the corner! Jacob gave us ...

Appleton, Wisconsin, United States hawgboundWell, I've started this travel blog a little prematurely, but I'm too excited to keep everything quiet. Trisha and I have officially started saving for our world travel adventure which will begin on the 6th of April 2010. Still deciding exactly where to start our trip and how it's all going to work out. All I know is that it WILL happen. 9 months to go. Until then this blog will help me organize my thoughts, ideas and potential travel destinations. Can't wait to get started.
De Pere, Wisconsin, United States oinksToday is the crazy long day of travel. Right now I'm sitting at the Detroit airport, for the last how many hours. The group seems super nice so far. Appleton, Wisconsin, United States cheer4lvwWell, it has been just over four weeks since I have been back from Morocco. It feels like a lot longer. It took me a good two weeks to feel "normal" again, or like I didn't want to sleep all day.

Other things:

It does feel good to be back into my routine: going to work, grocery shopping, cleaning, working out regularly and eating normal-sized meals (sans bread). I've been keeping in touch with some of the people we've met, and that has been ...
Green Bay, Wisconsin, United States jmatczak... and resuming my regular activities only one week after this ordeal. Peace Corps and American Airlines have been very supportive of this decision and cooperative with the change of schedule. I also didn't want to go back after being jipped out of my Christmas break...he, he, he. So back to Jamaica on January 8th, and I think by then I'll be ready to get back to the sunshine and warmth, and leave the foggy gloom of ...
