Unforgettable Birthday

A travel blog entry by nelmary on Jul 18, 2014

Yesterday is a bit of a blur due to jet lag. Our plane arrived safely and on time. Dana guided us to the express train to central Rome, Termini Station. We took a short taxi ride to our hotel. once our room was ready, we crashed for about 4 hours. Now we were able to take on Roma! We cabbed it to the Jewish Quarter. We crossed one of the Tiber …

The Trevi Fountain and offer of a Bambino!

My last day I head into Florence and have the traditional Italian breakfast of a custard filled croissant and capuccino, standing at the counter, before attempting to locate the final few gifts for my family and avoid the massive amount of tourists, and many, many tour groups all lead by guides holding flags above their head, and moving in mass. When in Rome

A travel blog entry by andy_n

... Michelangelo’s statue of a horned Moses was in the Chiesa di San Pietro right across the street. So we had to go and have a look-see. It was very fine but what really caught my eye were the utterly macabre images of skeletons and death figures that decorate the tombs of some of the worthies buried there. They were just weird to me but probably of great importance to one who studies such things.

That evening Trafalgar treated us to veal scaloppini to mixed ...

Second week of school

... I think it's strange that they always announce the strikes at least four days in advance, because it's not like anything gets accomplished during these. Monday night I cooked the first Italian dinner with all of my housemates. We made bruschetta, pasta with olive oil, pesto, and Parmesan, spaghetti, and roasted vegetables. It was delicious!

On Tuesday we went to the Colosseum. Again, I'd already been here but it was so nice going the second time! ...

Meeting the Pope

A travel blog entry by timscott23

OK we didn't meet the Pope, just visited his house and garden.

Determined to have an early start we set out at about 9.30 am. This doesn't sound early, but most places are barely opening by 9am.

We had an idea of what we wanted to do, but got a bit lost and the tickets we had bought for our city tour ended up not being for the city tour that we expected it to be....

All of our toing and froing in our local area trying to find ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Boscolo Exedra Rome

Just returned from a 10 day stay in Rome, the Exedra surpassed my expectations. One of the finest hotels that I have ever stayed in, second to none. The location could not have been more perfect, we walked everywhere, all sites except for the Vatican can reached on foot from the Exedra, and if we needed to use other forms of transpertation, the staffed arranged for us. The rooms were some of the largest I have ever seen in or out of the states. It truely was more then I could have imagined, and it made our stay in Rome more memorable. Safe to say that this was a fantastic place to stay, without question will stay there again, on my next visit!

The most wonderful experience imaginable is to stay at this hotel.

Everything to the smallest details oozes quality. The staff are wonderful. An amazing hotel with spacious rooms. 100% delighted with our 2 night stay. Great location for seeing the sights. Would very highly recommend.

    Loved it

We stayed here for the first 4 days of our honeymoon 10 -14 October 03 and were blown away by how excellent the hotel was. The location is great, the rooms are stunning and we got a great deal on lastminute for E226 per night. We'd definitely come back here again.

    Beautiful and Luxurious

Just returned from a nine day stay in Italy. We visited Venice, Florence, Capri And Rome. Our trip got better and better and I must say the highlight was staying at the Exedra in Rome. This hotel is first class, beautiful and the service was flawless. The rooms are gorgeous with 14foot ceilings and dramtic decor that makes you feel very pampered and special. We loved the huge two person tub! The door man was very helpful and gave excellent recommendations of places to eat and see. The Hotel is in a good location. Walking distance from Termini train station and had an entrace to the subway right outside the door.

Very convenient. I would highly recommend this hotel and a long stay in Rome!

    FABULOUS!! Great location, great service...

A true luxury hotel! The rooms were absoulutely comfortable - marble bathrooms, great bedding, every amenity that you could every need...

the service was excellent as well. Also, the hotel is literally in front of a train stop (metro) and is in walking distance to most major tourist attractions. By far, this was a 5+ star hotel! I would stay there again without a doubt! I would recommend this for a traveler that is looking for comfort as well as a nice place for couples. It may be a bit pricy for families with children...

    Early days- but great potential

If you're visiting Rome in the next few months then I'd recommend trying the Exedra- as the rates for a hotel of this quality are still relatively cheap (certainly for Rome). I got a superior room for 150.

It's only been open for six months and, while it's true some of the service is a little rough around the edges, it's a lovely hotel. Our room was big with a beautiful bathroom and an amazing bed. Unusually for Rome it has a pool- with amazing views from the roof. Once the spa is open you can expect prices here to soar. Go now!

    Absolutley breath taking!

The previous reviewers were all right on the money. This hotel was beautiful, romantic, classy and romantic. 5 star all the way, worth the $$$. The staff was incredible. At night, it will take your breath away.

Make sure to check out the ruins on floor -1 which they have set underneath glass--very cool, we stayed September 12-14 and I am ready to go back!

    Worth every pretty penny

The Boscolo Hotel Exedra was fabulous in every way: service, room quality, etc. Rooms were stunningly beautiful, gorgeous baths in various colors of marble. Every possible comfort. Very helpful staff.

An elegant and luxurious hotel - just finished when we stayed there in April this year. We paid a very reasonable rate (perhaps because the spa was not yet open).Architecturally beautiful building, and excellent location for sightseeing although it is close to the not particularly salubrious station area (Termini). Standard rooms not huge, but seem spacious and airy because of large french windows and high ceilings - we had a balcony.
