Long ass car ride

Ok I know there is going to miscommunications between people but this one was big. I'm not going to go into detail but a 3 hour bus rid to hang out with some friends for the night turned into a 10 hour ride jammed in a suv with 7 others to go to a WEDDING! Ok, I don't have any nice cloths with me and I wasn't planning on 10 hours in a car. At least I got some free food.

An enjoyable & colourful colonial village.........

... residence. This was over my normal budget, but was far too good an offer to turn down for the standard of room and services that were on offer.

Hotel Ray 4 Hermanos, Tel: 01 (696) 9650303. This is probably the best budget / midrange hotel in town and is located on the plaza. There rates are 200 + 250 peso for 1 or 2 persons, 300 for a room with two beds and 500 peso for a suite.

Paradise Lost....

... Cento, CA - completely geared towards businessmen, expensive, and completely lacking in Mexican charm. Actually for a while I forgot we were in Mexico, the only food offered was room service which turned out to be...Sushi! Hmmm not exactly what you want in inland Mexico. My phone call with the food place was interesting - the conversation was mixed Spanish/English but when the guy said he would put chicken in our sushi rolls I started to wonder if all my ...

Windy Isolated Beaches of El Dorado

We got our muffler replaced in los mochis for $35 and headed down the coast to el dorado. lindsey got a speeding ticket for doing 80km in a 60km zone (Sometimes the speed limit posts are hard to see and change suddenly here) it was a bit frantic to sort out what was going on as the police officer spoke very quickly and with a thick accent making him hard to understand. we thought he was going to take lindsey's drivers licence and registration at first but she said she would ...

All Las Cascabellas park just for us

... the door step (that looked lilke an accordion) but we... Ian... managed to repair everything with a good old hammer. The park was built around a lagoon and was a fairly extensive water park and villas complex. We noticed many beautiful birds and the funniest thing. We were there in a huge fenced park all alone with the overnight security guard. Bon, enough for this one! Bye people, Eugie

Small Villages in Mexico

... villages I find people staring with interest, and the ones that do speak english stand around, and i can tell they're just busting to ask me questions. Some quite funny, like "why do you not have kids!" haha. Most just curious about my travels about where I'm going and where I've been, and most of all, why I am doing this.

Well im down in Acapulco now. Traveling on buses and undergrounds with a hangover isnt good but i made it here in the end. The wrestling turned out to be ok but not that amazing, we were right at the back as well which didnt help. I think the main ...

Mainland Mexico

A whole new world greets us this morning. The trip to Los Mochis after the ferry docked (9:30pm) was completely uneventful. We were reluctant to drive at night, but the highway was very well used, a divided 4 laner, and good speed was maintained by all vehicles for the 20 km to ...

Marathon journey starts - Mazatlan to Los Mochis

... but comfortable. I was brave enough to check with the station that I was sat on the right side of the train (apparently better for the views - good old guidebook) and I was. The, as the sun rose, we pulled out of Los Mochis and headed for the hills. I´ll update on the journey in the next blog, so I can put a map pin in. Before I forget - thanks to everyone for the messages, texts, emails - it has been great to hear your news too. Take care CASxx
