    Played tourist all day at Billie Swamp Safari, also in the Indian Reservation. First, the air boat ride. Thrills but no spills; fortunate with alligators, bison and water buffalo around. Drove over an alligator, but apparently it often happens and he dives out of the way!

    ... managed by the Seminole Indian Reservation. Did all the clothes washing in less than 1 and 1/2 hours, for $3.25; what a contrast to last year in Europe, both in time and cost.

    Almost had the park to ourselves. Cooked dinner on the Bar BQ plate provided. Steaming hot evening, real shorts weather now.

    Watched the DVD of Apollo 13 - means so much more after our visit ...

    ... one in Florida of all places!! We always dreamed of sitting out in the warm evenings but here we are sitting inside listening to the rain - we even had to turn the volume up!!

    Well as you can see from the date I wrote the blog above 10 days ago & we either haven't had Wiffi or it was so bad I couldn't download any pictures. We spent a week in the Florida Keys & we are now in Everglades, hopefully I will post some more ...

    ... D.C. and spend two days there visiting with Denny's brother George who we haven't seen in 4 years. But we couldn't outrun Sandy. She was expected to make landfall Monday in New York City or New Jersey and if we had left on Sunday as planned for D.C., we would have been driving into the eye.     ... Moore Haven to Clewiston is pretty boring except for the waterfowl that are in abundance. Sadly the Corps of Engineers has eradicated the Casuarina trees on the Lake side of the canal and destroyed the former beauty as well as a great windbeak. Thankfully the bass fishermen were not a nuisance for us although we did see a number of them.
