I'm actually writing this on 10/14 although we actually got home on Oct. 9. Had time after breakfast to make one last trip to see the Obelisk of Theodosius, the Serpent Column, and the Walled Obelisk, all located on the Hippodrome that runs between the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. ... progress through Washington State took us into Yakima Gorge, where we envied people floating lazily down the river in boats and tubes; just-harvested farmlands near Goldendale in the delightfully named Klickitat Valley where we were, once again, glimpsing the distant volcanic mountains of the Cascade Range and on to its' border with Oregon.
