... Laclede whose landing on the riverside the placename commemorates. Further down the river, where the Arch stands is where Mr Laclede set up the settlement of St Louis.

... quarry. The priest was creative and used things like baking molds and glass bottles to add decorations along with shells and beautiful rocks. It was very peaceful both on the drive to the shrine (about 8 miles off the highway) and on the grounds. The area is remarkably similar to New England with rolling hills and lots of deciduous trees.

3,000ft @ 55% power.

I took such a low altitude because I was trying to stay below the storm. I then had to climb higher in order to meet the MEA (minimum enroute altitude) over the Appellation mountains. Contrary to the normal, I had headwinds the entire way. This was slightly annoying because it made the trip two hours longer then it should have been.

The museum also has outdoor sections including a large ball pit, more slides, more crawling and climbing sections. There is even a sort of carnival type place on the roof (extra charge) that we did not go to, but could see the huge ferris wheel. The kids got stuck in the ball pit (literally) and also braved climbing ...
