We had a wonderful day with a morning visit to Richard's daughter, Amy, who has cerebral palsy and spends her work days at a wonderful facility called the Pieters Life Center. From there, we headed west on Route 90 traveling along the NY State Thruway, down Route 271 to the Ohio Route 80 interstate. Enough about roads.

... with a couple more beers. Very pleasant. Monday morning, time to say goodbye for now, and start making our way back to Chicago in readiness to board the train back to LA and flight home. We couldn't thank our hosts enough for making us feel so welcome, and will have a lot to reciprocate for when they finally do make it to Australia. In Youngstown Ohio. 690 miles today another 11 hours in saddle. Chicago is just nasty period. I heard a poll before we left on trip that NJ was top state that if it went away no one would mind, I really think it should be Illlinois! The only thing is they have a Sweet Tomatoes!!!! Yeah, that is a salad bar place us WCV'ers go to in Orlando and they rock! Eat your heart out Terry!!!!! LOL Restaurant attached to hotel has best food so far on ...
... it had to "recalculate" once or twice for road detours, arrived at another Best Western Motel. This time at Dunkirk, New York. This is about one and a half hours from Niagara Falls. Will do the falls tomorrow, as a day visit, then start heading south to Florida. Have decided to skip New York City and Washington as a time saver. It is summer vacation time anyway, and no doubt crowds there will be greater than normal. We can't do everything in the time ...
... were with men in scoring position; 4 with two men in scoring position, and 4 with the bases loaded. Five times Cyclone batters struck out looking. Can't get hits with the bat on the shoulder. The Scrappers, meanwhile, struck out only 4 times, leaving only 5 men on base.
The not-quite-saving grace was the fielding, which was really excellent. We saw a good half-dozen stellar plays, and the Cyclones have a shortstop ...
