... what his job entails. There are other guys to load/unload bags; serve food/soft drinks. I think on long trips, they take turns driving. Or at least I hope so =) Maybe he´s just moral support...

Anyhoo, I finally got to sit in the front row! The view was amazing!!!! A little scary at times - I´m not sure I´ll ever get used to the traffic rules (or disregard of said rules ...
Mendoza, Cuyo, Argentina lasondraAlright so day 2 in Mendoza was eventful. We went to some vineyards and did some wine tasting which was a completely new experience for me because I know nothing about wine and I don´t drink it. It was fun though. The first vineyard we went to was called ... which was the more traditional winery. Our guide was Gustavo. He was very friendly and made us all feel at home.
Then we went to Vistandes. This was the more industrial big scale winery. The grounds were beautiful and had an awesome ...
Mendoza, Argentina nana31902... lunch buffet (with vegetables, it's true!), we moved on to rafting Again, this was the most safety-concerned outfit I have encountered--we had wet suits, splash jackets, life preservers, and helmets. It's very late in the season for rafting, and Mendoza hasn't had rain in months. So the water levels were low. But Ramon, our guide, managed to provide a sense of danger and excitement nevertheless, and the water was ...
Mendoza, Cuyo, Argentina beglisc... over the place, finally squeezing between a gap in the taxis (they quickly closed the gap afterwards) and were on our way south. Off in the distance to the west were snow-capped volcanoes and mountains and in the foreground were beautiful vineyards and farmland. Once we reached the junction with Ruta 7, we set out due west to see the high peaks. We passed by lakes, dry red rock canyons cut by low water rivers and streams and eventually ...
Mendoza, Argentina chiapoe... and the two parted company most unamicably. As a bike riding teen, i was sure that this was a simple 2-second repair job. Some twenty minutes later, after teaching the amused local children some new English words they won´t learn in class, and my hands of such a dirty colour of black that they would have made a Welsh miner blush, I was to be found pushing the bike down the road, seated using my feet, a la the car from the Flinstones!!. In the beautiful sunshine ...
Mendoza, Argentina razandrich... a helmet, life jacket, a floating toboggan looking thing, and a few loose circuits in the brain. So with the above equipment you jump into class I-III rapids and run them yourself. No formal training on which lines in the river to take. It sounded like an amazing experience it was reasonably priced, I just couldn't get up early enough to give it a go. Maybe if i pass back through Mendoza I´ll give it a whirl. Definitely something you cant do in the USA!
Mendoza, Argentina gpalecek... I think once our guide realized none of us were enjoying ourselves he relaxed a bit and tried to be nice but he had already set the mood. We tried not to let it ruin out trip and it ended up being really fun. It was crazy hard work and one of the girls flew off the boat and had to be rescued it was pretty exciting. Nothing like the trip I did in grade 12 .... way better and way *************t know ...
Mendoza, Argentina mariaandevaFor a country that has lots of natural resources the people don t seem to be too well off. There are supplies of gas and oil but these are owned by foreign companies. One of the former presidents sold the family silver long ago and benefited personally. Large tracts of land are also in foreign hands having been sold off very cheaply a couple of centuries ago. When I mean large some are the size of Scotland and ...
Mendoza, Cuyo, Argentina nas.latif... br>
...(wouldn't you LOVE to have a cellar like this?!)...

...and then (FINALLY!) the best bit: the tasting.

The area where we did the tasting was just beautiful, up on the top floor with views all over the vineyards.

This time we tasted one of their ...
