Today we walked down to the National Mall to have a look through some of the Smithsonian museums and to see the famous monuments and memorials. We started out by stopping at the White House, it was pretty surreal to be standing outside it, looking at it in person. Mom, Justin, and I took the subway to Terminal B. Justin and I headed for the United Club while Mom was walking toward Gate B84 to check on the UX flight to IAD. She called me to say the UX flight was now delayed from 7 to 9 p.m. while the UA 737-900 was moved up from 9 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. I looked at my watch – 6:44. Oh no!
I left Justin in the United Club. He’s trying to get home ...
... busy tonight. Lot's of buses loaded with tour groups. Many tour groups have guides who carry a flashing light on an umbrella so the group can follow the guide. Most of these groups are between 10 and 50 people, so it gets pretty crowded around the memorials and walkways. Our tour guide is Bob, and Bob prefers to where a snow white Albert Einstein wig that we follow. I will get a picture to share one of these days. Back to the Vietnam ...
