I woke up very early. Alice and I have to share the room here and boy, was it cold. Temperature differences are tremendous here.
When I got up it was about 3 degrees Celsius, while later on we had 27 degrees during the day.
Anyway, I started the day by posting some pictures at the blog from the day before. Around 7:00 a.m. I woke Alice. That wasn't the best idea. She didn't like that.

... the mosquitoes were plentiful - there were none about in Vancouver. A quick dip in the glacier fed lake afterwards was extremely refreshing (also extremely cold) which kept us busy to around 4PM when we got word that the highway was re-opened. We all jumped back on the bus with hope to get back to Banff around 10 to 11 PM for Sunday Funday, the biggest party night of the week.

... A few kilometres down the road, the Baker Creek Chalets had to be evacuated, so we hosted their staff and guests for a few nights, despite losing power during the first night! It was good fun having everyone together.

As you can see in the photos of the Bow Valley River in front of Castle Mountain, the water looked like brown soup. Yet, one of the creeks that fed into the river ran clear. This created an interesting effect as you can see in the photo collage. ...
