    ... it. To say the place is barren is an understatement but it certainly is something special - noticed we went lower than sea level on three or four separate occasions!!
    After consulting with a most disgruntled park ranger (who was working but not getting paid - because of these "muppet politicians" - we decided to drive northwards on the east side of Yosemite (past Whitney) and hope that highway 120 into and through Yosemite was open - at this stage we had already established ...

    ... and my legs were flapping, but I was not touching the surface of the bridge. I knew that I was being moved along by the momentum of this mass to which I was inextricably glued, and I had no choice but to let go. I totally trusted that the people of Calcutta were holding me safely, and that even if the bridge snapped and we all fell into the water, our bodies would instantly form a raft and we would continue drifting toward the shoreline, apace.

    ... was intended for rope or line. I use line, as someone told me that, "there is no rope on a boat." OK, I use that but I use terms that are not really nautical, like parking the boat instead of mooring etc. Another thing that gets me upset is the improper use of securing the line to cleats. This is important, as the way you attach a line to a cleat has to be strong, but you have to be able to remove the line from the cleat quickly in the case of sudden strong winds. This ...
