... because our shoes collected platforms of mud. I could barely lift my sneakers the mud created two foot platforms on the bottoms. We couldn't climb the trees to get the top olives because Vilmo said if we got the mud into the bark it would ruin next years production of olives. So Vilmo allowed us to use the machine that his other paid workers had been using. It was called an olivera and it was a long plastic or metal rod with a circular head of long ...

... whatever we wanted from that room... This was at 3pm too, not like we arrived at some weird hour.
The "dorm" was just an apartment with 6 beds in 1 room, a kitchen and 4 beds in the room joined to the kitchen with no door between - check out the photos on facebook.
Glad we booked the cheaper 6 bed dorm and not the more expensive 4 bed!!!
Found out later that day they have another "dorm" downstairs with a 6 bed room and a double bed in ...
Well we arrived in Florence mid afternoon by train. And we had another great experience finding our hostel. Just a few blocks from the train station, pretty much in the central of all the action...its awesome! The Hostel is probably the cleanest and best one we've been at. In the price of our accommodation, we get free breakfast and dinner as well as free internet! (thats why I've updated all of these blogs!) And the breakfast just isn't ...
Florence, Tuscany, Italy kkb-myadventure... and it looks as though it was recently renovated. This was the least expensive of all the hotels. The room and general aesthetics of the hotel were new and quite nice. Denise had some trouble working the glass accordion shower door the first morning and ended up flooding the bathroom with ½ inch of water. I noticed there was a problem when I saw a stream of water flowing from under the bathroom door to the center of ...
Florence, Tuscany, Italy ashatley... which was good, because we felt lousy that we had missed out! The dinner was really cool! SO much food! It was kind of ridiculous! It was all you could drink of wine, or soft drinks etc. Heaps of pasta's and salads etc! There was also live Italian entertainment, 2 opera singers, and a guy on a piano singing 'Thats Amore' and others that we sang along too! Was heaps of fun! We went back to the hotel afterwards to sleep! Felt heaps better after eating!
Florence, Tuscany, Italy richandleight... ride by. It may be THE most beautiful building I've ever seen. (I can't wait 'til all the *tourists!* go home so I can ogle it more closely and peacefully.) Ken crosses the famous Ponte Vecchio each day to get to his office across the river. The nearest little 'supermarket' we use is across the street from a large porta (stone arch) of the original medieval wall that used to surround the city. Even ...
Florence, Tuscany, Italy hschultz... improved). So out come the charades...and well...you can just envision what these two stupid Americans look like in Italy tryring to buy yeast infection medicine. After multiple "no capichè"s we finally realized that our tour guide speaks perfect Italian and could get it for us. Ok. So now we're in Florence. Home of Michelangelo's David. Also the Duomo and many other simply stellar things. I have pictures ...
