... the enormous sports stadium and the first one I find happens to be a wheelchair access lift thing that takes you down to a mezzanine level where the loos are. Paul gets in too, and we find we have overloaded it and cannot get the doors open. For those who are unaware, Paul has a fear of being stuck in a lift (probably some childhood issue.....). The panic sets in, his breathing starts to do that hyper ventilating thing, I am saying calming and understanding ...
... and see all the pretty seaside villages along the way. We knew it would take longer but thought the scenery would be worth it. Boy, were we wrong! Whilst some parts of the road were quite spectacular, most of it was crowded, slow and without much of a view. ... a few thousand sun-seekers enjoying the afternoon sun. We arrived back to our hostel in time for a happy hour beer before getting our packs ready for tomorrow's 10 hour bus ride to our next stop - Lauterbrunnen in Switzerland. We will need to adjust quickly from plus 30 degrees to below zero so looks like it will be another winter birthday for Lo! ... 630 to figure out how to catch the train down south, it was a 5 hour train ride and all we wanted to do was sleep and when we found our seat we had a whole year of year 6s in our carriage (wow i have never wanted to punch so many kids haha).

I am leaving Cap d'Ail tomorrow and heading to the farm I mentioned in my last post. It will be a long trip since I am going all the way from the SE to the NW. Luckily, that gives me an excuse to spend another couple days in Paris because the easiest way to get to Belle Ile is from there (and only a sucker would make that trip in one day).
