... and shower and rest.
Fourth lesson: showers in Europe do not have curtains and are handheld showers.
Needless to say we made a mess, but we were clean and fresh. Oh and we had to share a queen size bed. We talked to our people back home and then headed to the carnival at around 8pm. We had paella for dinner and purchased metallic silver and golden hair to wear for the parade. We basically got stampeded as we were entering the parade. We spent the ...

They were Jake and Matt for the US, Zoe from the UK, Jun from Japan, And Vu a fellow Australian from Melbourne. We introduced them to the Bavarian drinking game that the boys back in Avignon showed us and many hours of fun and laughs were soon had. After the game we all decided to go to Wayne's where we all danced again for a short while; however, we were unable to stand how busy and hot it was ...

Heading back to the club we found Jose and Jase chatting to some Canadian girls. We joined in for a while and had a bit of a super sweaty dance for an hour. At close Jose was off talking to a girl and Isaac and Jase had smoke bombed, so I left for home.

When the proprietors saw that we were leaving they became quite concerned and solicitous. Clearly they wanted to cater to the tour group business. They insisted that we take a table outside under an awning and have the dessert that was intended for us. It was very good as desserts go, and very much quieter than in the restaurant. Still no wine, though.
And so to bed.

Day 7: Free day in the French Riviera 5 September
Day 7 started off with a very early 7.15 start, this time it was our own decision as we wanted to make the most of the day. There was a massive group of us who left the hostel and we ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Goldstar Resort & Suites Nice
For a short trip in November we spent 3 nights in this nice hotel in the beautiful city of Nice. It's around 3 blocks from the beach and one block from the first pedestrian street for shopping and eating out. Location is perfect, close to wherever you want to go but still calm enough at night to sleep with the windows open (though we had a room to the back side of the hotel, don't know the noise level on the street side.)
I have just come back from a short break at this Hotel with my mother. We went for a short shopping trip. We were delighted with our choice of Hotel and if I was going to Nice again I would definitely book the Gold Star.
Modern, sauber, schöne Lage. Sehr empfehelenswert
Gut gelegen und in gehbarer Reichweite vom Strand und der Altstadt. Zimmer und Service waren klasse. Sehr empfehlenswert.
Modern, clean, nice location. Highly recommended
Well located, walking distance from the beach and Old Nice. Rooms and service are great. Highly recommended.
We loved the Goldstar
AKQ from Wicklow has said everything I was going to say. We had a wonderful two days here and wished it could have been longer. I would add that the reception staff were excellent, especially Luis (and very handsome too!!!). The entertainment in the bar was very good, drinks reasonably priced and the beds were wonderful. Although not a huge swimming pool, it was plenty big enough to have a good swim in. The hotel is very modern and high-tech -even the shutters on the windows are operated electronically. We can't wait to go back!
My husband and I stayed for two nights at Goldstar Resort recently. This Hotel is only opened since July and is very modern, clean and airy. The suites are all finished in rich hardwood and marble tiling. Our one bedroom suite was very well equiped with two flat screen tvs, a kitchenette with stove, fridge and microwave. The bathroom was beautiful with a large corner bath/shower and two sinks. Two robes were also provided. The room had internet access and a safe. The settee in the lounge opened to a double bed so four people could sleep in the suite quite comfortabley.
Traumhaftes neues Hotel!!
I've always been a bit of a stickler when it comes to booking hotels and using the pictures and description to to gauge what the place will be like. However, I must admit to being very pleased on this occassion when we were shown to our room/suite by the porter. Everything was new (the hotel had only been open for 6 weeks apparently) and clean. There was a brand new cot for my 6 month old daughter, already made up for her. There were a few finishing touches which will probably end up on a snagging list for the builders to sort out, but all in all everything for our stay was fine. The only problem we did have was that the safe would not close, so you could not reset the code etc. Reported to reception but not fixed by the time we left. We will recommend this to our friends with young families, as it gives you everything you need at a price lower than you can expect in some of the more traditional hotels. If you're after traditional features, the photos kind of give it away that it is modern and contemporary.
