Well, here I am on Friday morning, all packed up and ready to leave but writing up yesterday's activities!
usual breakfast at 8.30, croissants, fruit, cheese, yogurts and tea and coffee obviously. Tea is the only thing they bring from the UK as French tea is a bit grim!
then straight into the kitchen for full on4 hours work. Only 4 of us left now, Mimi and Michael from Australia and Amy from Kentucky and me!
Sorry blog fans, a bit late today as I didn't have time this morning to write blog up from yesterday!
just realised that the days are all over the place, but this entry is for Wednesday, ie yesterday!
Morning was ok for me, but there were some more bad heads around- the unlimited wine is too much temptation of some!
straight into the kitchen after breakfast to make pate sable, a type of sweet pastry, ready for our tarte aux citron ...
... had specific goods to buy, I had to get 6 red apples, 6 lemons, 2 carrots and some green beans. That was fun. The primary school we passed has their menu for the weeks school dinner on the window - no chicken nuggets here! The teachers have wine with lunch apparently!
Then to Lectour, a spa town for lunch in a local cafe - ...

Our meal in the evening was at Bernard's restaurant, where we had prepared the food earlier. It was delicious. Vegetable soup, home made bread, the 3 different types of foie gras with fig confit, apparently that plate alone would be £38 in London! Then a sorbet to cleanse the palate, then venison steak with potato 'gateau' and roasted tomatoes, with a totally amazing mushroom sauce over it all! Gorgeous! ...
... market was just closing (as usual for us) & we stopped for lunch - it's a very nice town unusual as it had wrought iron pillars and balconies reminiscent of New Orleans. Got to Villeton & no signs so checked with a boat cruiser that we were going in the right direction, yep we were. At last the Canal di Midi, very nice at last to be cycling on the flat and with some good shade. Oh no, first ...
