    Race Day

A travel blog entry by legoodtimesroll on Jul 10, 2015

... we found Graham easily going through his pre race rituals( which means multiple visits to the toilet) It was soon time to put on the wet suit and join the other GB old boys. Although all competitors there is a commaradery between the group of about 10 "old boys" which were the last wave to go off. They paraded from their pen to the start line and into the beautiful clear water of Lake Geneva. 5,4,3,2,1, and they are off. Graham is out in front , well ...

    Pre race day

A travel blog entry by legoodtimesroll on Jul 09, 2015

Graham had to register and do a team photo this morning, so I opted to stay in the village. I wandered to the supermarket and explored shopping Mall which was part of a huge swimming pool complex which looked very exciting. I couldn't buy too much as I had to carry it up the hill so I had to wait for Graham to come back with the car to do a beer and wine shop. The family were arriving tonight and expected the fridge to ...

Graham went off for a bike recce with his team mates and I people watched in the GB team hotel although I didn't spot any celebrities it's quite amusing watching people coming in and out of a hotel with bikes and wearing clippy shoes. When we got back to our campsite it was time to find a jumper again as it was noticeably cooler than in the ...

Today we headed to Aix Les Bains - renowned for its thermal spa and nearby lake. After an early check-in at 2pm at our hotel, we got back in the car and headed towards the old town looking for a car park. This turned out to be fruitless as there was not a spot to be found. It seemed that on this holiday everyone was in the town centre. We returned to the hotel and decided the 20min walk would do us good. I found it a little on the chilly side ...

Annecy, at the foot of the Alps

... a couple of pretty alpine villages. Still coming to grips with driving a manual, with the driver in the left seat, and driving on the right! Pretty hairy on a skinny country road with a big truck coming towards you! Our day in Chamonix was magical! While the town itself is very commercialised (it is the centre of a large ski resort) it is still very pretty in places. The highlight, however, was the cable car ride up to the pak of the ...
