... twin concrete tracks that just be for a tractor type vehicle. But very rough, and unbelievably, it gets steeper. Up and up he continues. The trees are so thick that you cannot see the castle or village or anything really. After about 30 minutes of this he stops with heart thumping and decides this must be the wrong way. We drove to Bellagio and then took the ferry to Varrena with the intention of eating lunch then travelling on to Piona to see an abbey. Just opposite the parking station was the Villa Monastera which has a beautiful botanic garden. We decided to look around the garden. ... later! Love those direct trains! A short taxi ride and we were at our B & B Resiidence Cavour, about a block from lake front. We were met by our host Moione who checked us in, showed us our room, the residence amenities, explained a few sights to see around Lake Como and places to eat. I guess the residents go into Bellagio to shop. It is about 2 km but up over the hill. Roger is riding his bike back to our apartment, so we visited the supermarketo we discovered earlier.
