... 21 with two guys out there and even though I didn't win, I held my own which I was excited about. I showered before going to logistical preport for Hawaii at 8pm. The funniest thing they did on our green sheet that we are given about the ports we are getting into was telling us that 1 Hawaiian dollar is equal to 1 American dollar. Duh! Afterwards I grabbed some dinner on deck 7 and then ...
Yokohama, Japan claudiv... plumet in the elevator, which forced us to equalise our ears halfway down, and then cause our stomachs to sink as the elevator slowed to a halt. It is very, very quick. It would be a fantastic ride if it was an external glass elevator like the one in the Umeda Sky building. Down through the Landmark Plaza, the shopping centre which occupies the bottom 5 floors of the building. We had dinner, and we ...
Yokohama, Kanto, Japan apat... seen him. I think the kids really loved it. I was watching there faces and they were all enthralled with Michael's storytelling and the little zebra pupped affixed to his left hand. The Children's story was over before I knew it which meant it was my turn to give. I had a borrowed guitar from another missionary friend of ours here, and I opened the bag in slow motion as Japanese eyes burned a hole in my back. As I strapped on the guitar and turned to face the congregation, an ...
Yokohama, Japan japanmc... 5 hour wait in Singapore airport. Matt and I spent all our remaining yen here, as it was cheaper to convert to Singapore dollars than back to Australian dollars! I did get my laptop set up but was too tired and feeling ****** to update, soz all :P Finally we got home at 9am and my own bed was the most beautiful sight I'd ever seen ;) So that was our Japan trip! It was a lot of fun, and I am missing the place already. Time to start planning for next time... >:3
Tokyo, Japan noni_matt... topic. My colleague was excited. "You should definitely attend! It sounds like a fantastic!" Yes she could afford to sound excited, safe in the ignorance of my classmates that I had to endure. "But the school event clashes with Global Festa that we have to attend", I said, sounding like a kid feigning illness to skip school. "Never mind, I will cover you". "OK, then", I muttered. A moment later I said "Thanks, I ...
Yokohama, Japan ryota... I walked around the main gate and arrived at the Ambassador's residence. The function began and ended smoothly. The Ambassador's residence was ah very plush - straight out of an interior magazine, it seemed. Large glass windows looking into a beautifully maintained grass garden in the middle to Tokyo is impressive enough. Rooms with high ceiling. The VC was not here begging for money. I met a few nice people to talk to. None of them studied history; none of them were at UWA ...
Tokyo, Japan ryota... being an Eirennach goes hand in hand with being an alcoholic so it took us 4 weeks of drinking to say goodbye. Just enough Sundays in Lent to allow me to drink. I managed to save up my Sundays and use them liberally near the end. However a couple were actually outside lent. Oh I gave up drink for lent, for those that don't know already. Seriously it's hard getting back into it. Quick rundown of Carol's Goodbye Parties ...
Yokohama, Japan japanesewhisper... of Jekyll & Hyde, and Sweeney Todd are coming in late December and early January! Doh! If only we were here a few more weeks! You know those will be huge, amazing, and spectacular shows. I found a really sweet park near the subway station. Nothing special, but really sweet. Very quiet. Had a handful of people sitting eating their lunch, and had some this stunning row of small yellow rose bushes. Cool to see the bright yellow against a backdrop of red and orange ...
Tokyo, Japan nyguy79... the signs aren't really very helpful and I went the wrong way a few times. About an hour later, I realized that I would never find what I was looking for - the bus parking area in the basement of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bldg. Well, it didn't appear to have a basement or at least a basement that was accessible to me. Much like the fabled 'basement of the Alamo' in PeeWee's Big Adventure (great movie, BTW!), it never manifested itself. So I gave up and went ...
Tokyo, Japan mcf... although that's the sad reality) - I'll always want to stay longer and see the place properly, and then pop to the next country, and then the next... It gets into your system and I can see what people mean by getting bitten by the travelling bug. Now I've seen some of the world, I really understand how much there is out there to see and experience, and having talked to various travellers I have a VERY LONG LIST of desired destinations! So here's to the next major travelblog!
