We spent our one full day exploring the area by bike enjoying the cool but sunny weather. We picnicked in a dune, protected from the wind and rode our bikes back all the way over the gorgeous wide beach with wind in our backs..

... Neptune's Bellows, a small break in the caldera wall which allows the ship to sail right into the bowl of the caldera. Inside we anchored in Whalers Bay and went ashore where we could see a few Gentoo Penguins, some Cape Petrels, Skuas and quite a few ruined buildings. We crossed yet another state line. We made it to Savannah, GA, but not until after dark. But that didn't stop us from going to the place Nic was most excited about today ...

Visited the Savannah History Museum in an old train station.The Tourist information Center is there also.The artifacts of the city of Savannah are displayed.

Drove to the Lady and Sons restaurant and made a lunch reservation.
Joined the guided city tours by Old Town Trolley Tours.It was 90 minutes.
Savannah has 24 public squares.Lots of old houses,oak trees and spanish moss.
Saw the Mercer Williams house of the book -Midnight in the Garden of Evil.
Had lunch at Paula Deen's restaurant -Lady and Sons.Paula Deen is a famous chef in the Food Channel.

Savannah is really a great place to visit. If you go make sure to take the trolley tours, it's well worth the money. It's nice to sit back, not worry about the traffic and listen to your guide as he narrates the tour. You are free to get on and off as you wish, because there are many areas where you will like to spend some time.
