Frankfurt is commonly referred to as the Financial capital of Europe, due to the EU Currency Exchange being located there, and this tends to overshadow and deter visitors as the rich history and traditions can easily be overshadowed. Including the metropolitan area and the inner suburbs, Frankfurt is the second largest city in Germany and was one of the front runners for being the new capital after the Second War, as they refer to it here.
