... very little sleep on the bus last night, but went straight out for the best breakfast I've had in weeks - Eggs Benedict, yummy...
Decided it was too hot to walk around, and as there's a nice beachfront promenade, I hired a bicycle - great fun! Ended up at the Sailing Club beach bar, now that was lovely, although it's the sort of place where all the beautiful people go, and as I rolled up on my bike ...
... Well again, nothing to complain about. Everything was there, hot shower,T.V. and an airco which you needed as it was pretty humid despite the drops of rain. A nice friendly Daughter, a bit more business-wise than the " Sister" in Ho Chi Min we found out later, but okay...same-same look for a drink and a bite to eat and ask around. So we found the "Why-Not-Bar"?? So yeah well we thought the same..so had a bit of a bite, some Vietnamese wine ( even if we could not spell ...

Swam out to a boat with Liora and climbed the rope like a monkey and then just chilled on this small boat - looking at the party from afar.

... to rinse or tidy anything away at the end of he dives either!
Our instructor was Aom and there were a Polish couple diving with us too. The first dive was cool and we saw lion fish which are really funny looking, lots of blue and yellow sea snails, a puffer fish, parrot fish, banner fish, butterfly fish, flute fish and a pipe fish! After a rest, a cheese sandwich, a banana and a cup of tea we were ready for dive 2!
This time it was a new dive site and there ...

Up fairly early this morning, about 7:15. Packed bags and breakfast in hotel before having a walk out to lake area.. Bought some stamps near lake as Angela needed to post a card to Martin & Dianne for their Hand Fastening ceremony. Steady walk round and then stopped at lakeside café – nice cold iced cappuccino.
Back to hotel to sort out bill etc and arrange taxi to rail station ...
... from head to toe on a 37 degree day is so they don't go brown. They also wear high heels on the beach cause they would like to be taller. Not sure if she's right, but I will believe it.
In the words of our cross-dressing, singing, dancing, joking tour guide Chot everything free - swimming free, sunbathing free, snorkelling free, I am free - free for ladies, not for boys. I like the way you move, love you long time. Goodbye.
Nha Trang, Vietnam tonicastells... known for sightseeing, but much more as abeach resort. Is definitely quieter than Hanoi, and busier than Hoi An, but is very, very touristy and isn't that great to just walk around. Think Marbella, sort of. Just in Vietnam. The beach though is quite nice.
Hotel told us we should taxi it to the Po Nagar Cham Towers, our first stop, and told us it should only cost around 20,000 Dong. 40,000 Dong later we arrived ...
... of cham architecture and still used for worship. The walls inside the towers are black with the incense that is burnt there. After our boost of culture we cycled down a pot-holed dirt track, through a dodgy part of town to the Thap Ba Hot Springs and had a mud bath, followed by a mineral soak and a swim in the 38 degree pool. All clean and refreshed we cycled back to town, dropped off the bikes and headed out to use some of the ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam emmaandpaul... went up 150 steps to see the massive white Buddha. And when i say massive i mean it. It was 34m tall, so pretty big! Once the Buddha was explored we headed back to the hotel, and that is where i am now. Tomorrow evening we will be getting the night bus to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City/HCMC) so might look around some of the museums here, or do something completely different. Hope you are all keeping well. Next blog will be from Saigon.
