... perfection (except for its out of place casino). The 2km promenade along the shore is a must with blooming gardens, sculptures and sights to see everywhere. Strongly recommend! A quick stop at the hotel where Barbara's art is exhibited then we headed back through town window shopping, mostly closed as it was 7pm after a long day. All we could manage was fried rice with shrimp from the Thai restaurant around the corner from us and an early night. Phew! This was definitely a day trip to ...

Taken the rack-train to Glion and enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the terrace restaurant at the Hotel Victoria overlooking the Lake. Leonie and Heather taken the boat from Montreux to Le Bouveret, the rest of us retuned home by ...

... it in it's entirety in a cloud, sense. Once the view disappeared we headed down from the point to see the marmots (adorable groundhog like things). On our way down we ran into two other couples, both from the US. The first couple was a cute older couple from Illinois and the second a middle aged couple from Texas, but moved to Georgia (they noticed my A&M rain jacket). We talked briefly with them (all seemed surprised we had hiked it). After we used the restrooms ...

... and calm. It does get busy during the Jazz festival and Christmas time but right now it is perfect. I can totally understand why Freddy Mercury wanted to spend his last years here……and Charlie Chaplin also lived here for 25 years.

The morning started out a bit misty but warm and the humidity was very high…..it was going to be a bad hair day! We set off down to the promenade by the lake which is just beautiful. It runs all the ...
