... like them to leave, so she told them off for us. They gave her some lip about how she is being rude, and they would lose their patronage, but they ended up going into the bar anyway.
We then paid our bill, and went back to the hostel at around 12:30am. We knew Wiz would be back from Granada. We showered, talked a bit, internetted, and went to bed. Before going to bed, Rebeca talked with the guy sitting at the desk at the hostel for a while.
... music is a wonderful idioma universal! I'm not sure if I'll stick with it since the schedule is a little more demanding than I'd like, however ALL of the people were muy, muy simpática. (Good to be around that artsy crowd again!) Speaking of epic pieces, this draft of blog entry # 1 is turning into quite that. Friday: In the last couple weeks I've taken day trips to Itálica and Aracena. Itálica ...
Seville, Spain megmary... out for the bright red door on Calle Levies. Its difficult to find. This place was packed to the rafters - mostly with American students but it was a great evening - with a flamenco dancer flautist, guitarist and a singer.
Onto the flight home - easy bus back to the airport, landed safely and within 15 minutes was scraping thick ice of the car window! Back to reality..........until my next trip!!
... didn't miss the flamenco. Outside of our room window we could hear them doing their last preparations on the street, brief spurts of Spanish guitar, singing and clicking heels. When they finally came in to perform, the tiny hostel foyer was crowded with backpackers and local supporters who had gathered in for this premier performance. The performers were from a nearby flamenco school who had agreed to perform for the hostel for free ...
Seville, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands dangabesisaak... avait d'etre decues s'est averee.
Seville, Andalusia, Spain bambam77... tour companies in Seville. Don't take the one I took. After all that, I buy myself some dinner at this road side café right outide my place. Pretty cheap 8E. I find out why. Everything is fried. Not horrible tasting thou. I tried to walk to the gay bars in the area but my poor little feet just can't take any more punishment. After buying some beer, I go back to the hostal and hang out in the kitchen, check my mail, blog and other things on the free internet.
Seville, Spain kasia-waw... flights out of Morocco, because its on the african continent. so for me to fly to greece or croatia, they would first fly me all the way north to London, which is totally out of the way and way more expensive. It is much easier to fly out of Europe to European destinations, and much cheaper to fly out of Portugal or Spain to get to Greece. so that is the new plan. Also, I´ve been forwarned that the 3 weeks I had planned in Morocco ...
Seville, Spain trg7... I didn't pay much attention to where we were going since I was too busy chatting with my new 'brother'. He helped me carry my things up the one flight of stairs to their apartment and showed me around. He showed me where my room would be and took me on a tour of the apartment (it didn't take very long - it's a small place). I started to unpack but kept coming out to chat with him and watch "Simpsons" and "Family Guy" dubbed in Spanish. I explained that the state in which Family Guy is ...
Sevilla, Spain catedoyle... sensitive as they are back home (Sevillanos are notoriously late), and few houses are wired with the internet. Also, the cars are bigger than I expected. There is a minority population of Smart cars; most of the cars are the same size as sadans in the U.S. Also, the Spanish do not entertain guests in their homes. There is no concept of "dinner parties." People only allow their families into their homes. Tapas bars are where people congregate to enjoy their time with friends.
Sevilla, Spain michelob... also the home to Europe's biggest Cathedral (it even has the certificate from the Guiness Book of Records proudly displayed to prove it) which was also very interesting - we were surprised to find out that the existing bell tower was in fact a converted minaret of a mosque which occupied the site in the 12th century. We topped off our stay in Seville with a night out at the Flamenco. The ...
