Fantastic Hotel in Great Location

Booked the hotel with lastminute.com and was not disappointed. It is in the perfect location for sight seeing in Prague, close to Charles Bridge, the Castle and Wenceslas Square - no need for transport anywhere.

Our room was on the second floor and very modern. Great finishing touches such as heated floor in the bathroom, dressing robes and slippers. Cleaners were great, they replenished the toiletries daily, which also meant a new toothbrush etc everyday!!

The breakfast is fantastic, an amazing buffet each morning, from salmon, to scrambled eggs to chocolate cake. There was also fresh fruit and juices as well as typical british breakfast items too!

The concierge are lovely and do all they can to help you with your stay, recommending restaurants and guiding you to them!

We stayed B&B which was enough as there are so many restaurants around Prague! For a great restaurant and a lovely paella try El Centro - just over Charles bridge and down either the second or third street on the left!

Excellent Hotel

I would just like to advise anyone who considers staying at this hotel they will be more than happy with the service and quality of workmanship gone into making this a very comfortable place to stay.

I am not going to bang on about the rooms being amazing and the beds are comfortable etc etc,other people have commented on this already but I really do recommend it to everyone,in fact i am going to be staying there again in Jan 07... So impressed, "However" there is still some light maintenance work being undertaken on the stairwell between floor 0 and -0 which is where the restaraunt is..

But that aside it's a lovely place with a location that is just central to all the sights.

Almost there

As written on other reviews, the location of this hotel is great! As the breakfast;never saw such abondance and choice. Simply great. Staff was very welcoming and kind as it should be for an hotel of this category. Speaking of which, it is more a good 4 star hotel rather than a 5 star hotel but I haven't had the chance to see the fitness room nor try the restaurant. The negatives are on the room which was a bit too dark and on the LCD tv that didn't have much choice of channels (but maybe it was only in my room). If they ammend to these minor flaws, definetely one of the best hotels I've been at.

Great place to stay

we stayed here for a long weekend, three nights B&B and it was brilliant. the bedroom was fantastic and the double bed a dream, really comfortable. The en suite bathroom is superb, multi jet power shower and under floor heating, great. Breakfast was excellant and the hotel is walkable to Old Town, Wenceles, Charles Bridge all the sites. It's less than 100 yards from the National Theatre. The staff are great. Some people mention the bedroom corridors as being cold looking, no carpets but they'll not be a mess when the snow comes!

Un gran hotel

Sobre todo hay que remarcar la excelente situación del hotel que permite ir caminando a casi todos los puntos más importantes de Praga o dejar las compras en la habitación y volver a la calle sin que te dé pereza.

La habitación es grande y con una decoración contemporanea que, a nosotros particularmente, nos encantó. El baño con tonos dorados y negros es grande y muy cómodo a excepción de la bañera que tiene el acceso muy alto y, en algún caso, puede costar entrar y salir.

El desayuno es abundante y variado.

Del personal solo se pueden decir cosas agradables. Y además con la ventaja de que bastantes de ellos hablan español.

En resumen es una gran elección.

Location, Location, Location

The Eurostars Thalia is a real treat, we booked via Lastminute.com and got a fantastic price for 3 nights and BA flights. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore prague as you can walk to all the central landmarks in just a few minutes, yet is not in a busy / touristy place which is ideal for inexpensive food and drinks. I loved the hotel's decor and the staff were welcoming and helpful. I would happily recommend anyone going to Prague to stay here.

Loved breakfast

Stayed at this hotel beginning of November, found the 3rd floor where my room was located a little bit too clinical. The view from the room was not great but it was very quiet. The underfloor heating in the well equiped and stylish bathroom was lovely. The bathrobes were a welcome addition, although I did feel they could have been of a better quality. The lighting in the room was a little dim and I could not see where I had put things or read up on my business notes. There were no drawers for clothes, just hanging space. The room was very Kelly Hoppen inspired, dark browns etc. It is quite hip so more suited to younger travellers or the more style concious. The staff were so friendly and made you feel very welcome. Breakfast was really good, with fresh fruit salads, smoked salmon, yogurts, eggs bacon you name it.

I prefer to stay more in the old town but this hotel is pretty central and you can walk every where. The only negative I would say is that it's a bit like staying in the Tottenham Court Road / Oxford Street part of London. But hey! you could do a lot worse!

Great hotel

I agree with the other reviews, the only thing we didnt like were the hallways, and anyway its just a hallway! the beds were actually amazing! soo comfy!!

breakfast was great and the staff were very helpful.

anyway, great location, easy to walk everywhere, best way to see the city

overall would definitely go back again, but doubt i will as it will be too expensive, get there quick before the prices go up!

Rough Diamond

The Thalia Hotel in Prague is a new design hotel, right in the middle of Prague. I stayed there for 4 nights from 23-27th october. The hotel just opened a couple of weeks ago. Not everything is in perfectly in place, but every day we saw inprovements. The rooms on the topfloor aren't ready yet, but these rooms a the real pearls of the hotel. We had a quick peek (sorry management...) and liked especcially room 417. The rooms on the 4th floor are the rooms with the views.

We stayed in room 101. A really nicely decorated room looking on a inner courtyard, not a really nice view, but a so quit in the big city. The room had high ceilings, was decorated in nice brown tones and had the most comfortable beds. The bathroom was gold, and black marble, beautiful. And it was very clean.

The hotel is a design hotel, but also a bit clinical. Especially on the 1st en 3rd floor, because the colors are there white and grey, while on the other floors, there is are more warmer redtones.

The personal is very kind, but are still trained by there Italian colleagues.

The hotel is opposite the National Theatre (go visit!) and the Laterna Magika (go visit!) But from the hotel you can walk to every site in the city, it's really central.

We paid 395 euro for 4 nights including a marvelous breakfast, but a glance at the hotel prices for next month tell me these price will raise.

Overal a diamond in the rough. Keep up the good work Thalia!

Great Location

Stayed here for 3 nights - the hotel had only been open for 5 days when we arrived. It is very contemporary inside although I did find the corridors and steps down to the restaurant a bit clinical. The rooms are very nice and comfortable and the lighting is great. We slept really well in the beds. Underfloor heating in the bathroom also added to the comfort. The bath is very deep and could cause a few problems getting in/out if you are on the older side. In fact I think the entire hotel is marketed towards a younger clientele. The restaurant was on the lower floor and was also very funky with red lighting. Food was excellent with a great choice, including smoked salmon for breakfast. As this hotel is newly opened it does have it's share of teething problems. Tiles and rail fell off the wall in the bathroom as did the hygiene bag fitment. Also, the fitment to place your door card for electricity fell off! Credit to the hotel, they sent someone to fix things straight away. There was no price list for the mini bar and the customer comment form was left completed from the previous guest so we did not get one. Also, I would have expected more luxurious robes and larger towels than provided for a hotel of this category. The location could not have been better. Within easy walking distance to all major sights. We did not need to use the tram/metro at all. Only about 5 mins walk from Wencelas Square but far enough away to enjoy plenty of good cheap bars and restaurants. I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it to people if you can get it at a good price. However, I think it's more 4* than 5*.
