On our way we crossed many canals seeing hundreds of boats and gondolas float under us. The bridge itself crossed a massive canal which had ferry boats and taxis (also boats) underneath. Both hungry we had lunch right under the bridge and while Sophie enjoyed another Italian pizza, ...

... upon it. We were in the Arsenale area. It is quiet and peaceful and the streets are like a maze. You come to a corner and make a decision and walk. It will probably be wrong but it doesn't really matter. Everything is picturesque. We followed a few people in hope that they were heading somewhere central, only to discover they were pretty lost too, or they would go into an apartment. Eventually we saw a sign heading to San Marco and found our way back home. We ...
