... Baltimore/Washington International Airport was pretty slow when we left. We zipped right through security and after a mild 45 minute delay we were airborne watching fireworks explode. Amazingly, we were lucky enough to fly right over Baltimore, Philly and Manhattan and saw hundreds of fireworks. Suddenly, I was pretty happy about our departure time and date. Mom only had one request - Don't kill me. We booked a hotel close to the train station that was actually very easy to find. It was also close to the vaporetti so we could easily make our way to St. Marco's Square and anywhere else we wanted to go.

... 6 hours total with an average speed of 22km. I thought that was pretty good. We stopped to keep me fed and to grab a break from the trucks. Trish- you would have hated this ride.

As the weather is anticipated to change tomorrow and rain we have ordered a van from our hotel in Venice to come for us. More apply money to save time and misery. I sure hope it rains as hard as the forecasters predicted!
