... formal function...Capitano Yano's "Magnifique 7 Captains Dinner"...all are asked to wear their Italian finery. It was a long, but interesting sail into Jesolo - the official moorings looked unpleasant so we decided to travel downstream further and came across a "sort" of mooring in a nicer part of town. ... to see something of Venice as we are only here one full day and tomorrow we head off to the Cinque Terre.

We head off to St Mark's which is now getting crowded but we stop to enjoy the main sights and take photos. I am pitching Murano as a nice day trip, great views of Venice, less crowds and did I mention jewelry! What a perfect idea and off we head. It is about a 1/2 hour trip and it is a gorgeous sunny day and we enjoy the views along the way.

... room, these worked..... We shrugged off that check in experience and headed straight for the rialto bridge. It was spectacular both getting there and the bridge itself. On our way we crossed many canals seeing hundreds of boats and gondolas float under us. The bridge itself crossed a massive canal which had ferry boats and taxis (also boats) underneath. ... upon it. We were in the Arsenale area. It is quiet and peaceful and the streets are like a maze. You come to a corner and make a decision and walk. It will probably be wrong but it doesn't really matter. Everything is picturesque.
