... formal function...Capitano Yano's "Magnifique 7 Captains Dinner"...all are asked to wear their Italian finery. It was a long, but interesting sail into Jesolo - the official moorings looked unpleasant so we decided to travel downstream further and came across a "sort" of mooring in a nicer part of town. The boys tested it and found it to be OK so we dressed for dinner and enjoyed aperitifs on the deck. Downstairs the table was laid ...

We placed our orders, then waited outside the shop in the narrow paved laneway by the hatch in the shop window. The shop opened its doors at 1200 and it was 1205. ... we kept our cool and eventually sorted it all out, and luckily we did so.... As we love the place! Can see how they get 20 million tourists a year.I read in one of our travel books it's pretty easy to get lost in Venice, and it's absolutely true. I think you become lost from the moment you step foot there, but that's what makes it so fun! You can't ...

... our room would be ready in 15 minutes so we had a cappuccino from the hotel cafe while we waited. The hotel staff were very helpful and gave us maps and information of how to get around.  We bought a travel card from reception which gave us access to the bus into Venice plus rides on the water taxis for 12 hours. We caught the bus from across the road from our hotel and headed into Venice. We managed to find the 4.1 water taxi that took ...
