This time I am going by train. sometime soon I will upload a few photos, I took the overnight train, (2pm in the afternoon to 7:30am in the morning) from Hangzhou to Shenzhen, then a quick hop across the border and metro to Wan Chai where the Visa office is.

Train station - Jinhua - we were a bit anxious about how much luggage we had, and whether we would be allowed onto the train. All fears disappeared when we saw a woman walking past us - carrying a tree, that was at least 8 feet tall! She was heading to the same train as us. As it turned out, no-one checked anything - tickets or luggage. After travelling to Hangzhou by fast train, we ran the gauntlet of taxi drivers, poo-hooing their quotes of 50-60Rmb, to get to the taxi stand - ...

Besides the beautiful area around the West Lake, Hangzhou surely has some “normal Chinese city quarters” with office skyscrapers and huge apartment blocks to host the majority of the more than six million inhabitants.
All-in-all our visit to Hangzhou has been nice and relaxing. It was a worthwhile stop, although I experienced it be not Chinese but rather like an artificial relaxation-park.
Next stop: Hong Kong
