... we investigated a lakeside restaurant down a side street (closed) and thought of having a drink in the cafe (now closed) By the time we returned to the site, a veritable river was running down to the lake. It was time to batten down the hatches for the night. An even worse thunderstorm then took over the battering and on bolt of lightning shook our residence on it's steadies and almost deafened us.
