    ... water, seem to be plenty of fish being caught. Hike back through a town that is nothing much to look at, the Don scouting way in front reaches the shop just prior to noon and holds court, we arrive after the local church bells have tolled the number twelve. Enter the shop and abruptly the lights are all turned off, we are unaware that the hours of rest are here - between 12 and three bells.     ... of Champagne-Ardenne. As we were driving through this part of France we hadn't seen any grapes and I thought it would be pretty hilarious to be in the Champagne region and not see any vineyards, lucky we went to Verzy! Next to Verzy is the village of Verzenay. Verzenay is very quiet, surrounded by fields of grapevines and home to many wine caves.     Some of the Heintzelman relatives (they are Nana's maternal relatives), came from Merzig, Germany. Since it is so close, we decided to visit while we're in the area.

    ... statues for churches with the main characters (Saints Etc.) surrounded by angels and cherubs, all in the one piece of statuesque artwork. The town now is French although it has changed hands with Germany many times and most people speak French and German fluently.
