Dear Emre and Kerem,
Today was my first day in Cyprus. After a long day on the road, my last stop was Kantara Castle. It's first mentioned in the records for Ric*************heart around 1190. So, it's easily a millennium-old. You can climb from the shoreline in about 20 minutes going through few villages and the final one is also called Kantara.
The road is very zig-zaggy and often times, you need to ...
Dear Emre and Kerem,
I made a habit of stopping by old, very old, religious sites and this is one of them. A monk from Anatolia came to Northern Cyprus and built this monastery in the 12. century and dedicated it to Mary, Jesus' mom. It's fairly well-preserved with orchards around it. It was small and quaint but so much more personal than those big museums back in the states. Our ...
... our Nissan Tiida rental car this morning, there was a green parking citation on the windshield – printed only in Greek. I can’t understand any of it! So there’s no way I can try to pay it. We’ll see what happens. Worse-case scenario: The ticket will be sent to Europcar and it will add 8 euros to my credit card for the unpaid ticket.
Mom browsed in a few shops, then we reached the Leventis Municipal Museum of Nicosia at 11:56 ...
