A divided city. Apparently the only one in the world now although I think a few others in Syria, and for that matter in the Middle East, might qualify too. But here there is border control right through the middle of the city separating the north from the south. Easy to cross though. Just check out of the south, walk 50 meters, and check into the northern part controlled by Turkey. Then you can go wherever you want by bus or taxi (shared or by yourself). You ...

BEAUTY SALON: A visit to the hotel’s barber shop or beauty salon will help you look your best!

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE CITY: I highly recommend the Archaeological Museum. Make it the #1 on your visit list. It is way too significant and should definitely not be missed. Take a stroll as far as Ledras and Laiki Geitonia. ...

... supermarket to our house so we avoid! Today was also the second round in the elections for president and we have not really noticed at all, local papers are saying that turnout for first round a week ago was poor and there is a lot of apathy towards politicians out here.....hmmm sounds familiar. But someone has to get elected and its out with the old as Mr Eroglu has lost and Mr Akinci is voted in. Thats todays excitement and on that note we retired to bed and a good book.

... needed to get away from my apartment. It was nice, I got a chance to breath and take time for myself. I finally saw a movie in a theatre after these 2 long months! Boy did I miss just the comfortable feeling of sitting in the theatre smelling the wonderful aroma of the popcorn. I miss the comfort of things I can easily get access to at home. This coming weekend marks my first travel adventure outside of Cyprus. I will be going on a 3 day cruise of the Greek ...

so I am sitting outside on my balcony and it is pouring rain. The thunder shook the apartment building. Tell me why I am typing this outside freezing. I miss the rain. It smells divine. The greenness of the clouds is reminding me of the how life is grey, how it rains, and those pretty rainbows come out. Most of all I am freezing because of the noise that the water is ...
